Special Research Library, San Francisco Full Time Temporary Remote Work Pay Rate: $25.00-35.00 per hour The Special Research Library is located in San Francisco and archive project work will be done remotely on a temporary basis, Monday – Friday with flexible start and end times ranging between 7:00 am – 6:00 pm (PDT) working 35 - 40 hours per week. Position Summary: Engage in projects supporting the development of the Research Library and Archive, with a focus on contributing records to a Special Research Library System preservation platform, pulling content from various structured and unstructured sources. · Execute information and document preservation projects · Create, organize and edit digital files to meet project objectives · Apply metadata schema to content and records from various structured and unstructured sources · Work with specialized archival software(s) · Monitor accuracy and consistency of data to ensure completeness of projects and user discoverability · Document project work and progress thoroughly such that other individuals could continue work stream; communicate well with management on differing schedules · Communicate well with people at different levels in other areas and understanding their points of view, to gather artifacts or to verify decisions around usability, discoverability, and next priorities for preservation · Follow all confidentiality protocols around restricted materials · Perform other duties as assigned or requested Qualifications: · 2 years of professional archival/library science related work experience · Digital preservation course work; preference for instruction through library or archives graduate program. · Strong background in archival preservation and descriptive practices; understand technical and preservation metadata concepts; familiarity with archival standards as outline in literature and professionally published guidelines. · Incredible attention to detail · Proficiency in Microsoft suite products, especially Excel · Knowledge of Preservica digital preservation software preferred · Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills · Strong presentation skills to interact with users and record owners preferred · Some interest in economics or banking preferred
